Terms and Conditions

The agreement is between DHL Home Furnishings (referred to herein as “ DHL Home Furnishings “‚ “Seller”‚ “we”‚ “our” and “us”) and the customer (referred to herein as “Buyer”‚ “consumer”‚ “you” and “your”).
By placing an order on this web site or with DHL Home Furnishings , you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions as set out below. If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions please do not place an order.

In the unlikely event of experiencing problems with delivery:

1. Conditions Applicable

i. Nothing in these conditions shall affect the Buyer’s statuary rights as a consumer.
ii. Any typographical, clerical or other error or omission in any sales literature, quotation, price list, acceptance of offer, invoice or other document or information issued by the Seller shall be subject to correction without any liability on the part of the Seller.
iii.Your order may not be accepted if:

-We are unable to obtain authorisation or clearance of your payment.

-The product that you have ordered is unobtainable.

-Your address or contact details cannot be verified.

2. Payment and Deposits

i. The price includes VAT at the current UK standard rate.
ii. All payments or deposits must be paid and cleared before the Buyers order can be processed.
iii. The total price shall be the price of the product(s) as stipulated on the Seller’s web site or published catalogue current at the date of the order‚ plus the agreed delivery costs and plus any agreed insurance costs.
iv. Where the product(s) are held in stock by the Seller at the time the Buyer places the order‚ payment of the total price shall become payable at the date of the order.
v. Where the product(s) are not held in stock by the Seller at the time the Buyer places the order‚ payment of a deposit of 25% shall become payable at the date of the order. The remaining 75% shall become payable when the Seller notifies the Buyer that the product(s) are ready for delivery.
vi. All orders must be paid for in full before the product(s) can be delivered.
vii. If your credit/debit card issuer refuses authorisation of payment to us, we reserve the right to cancel the contract with you.
viii. All products remain the property of DHL Home Furnishings until the product(s)‚ delivery and any other charges are fully settled.

3. Delivery

1. You agree to accept delivery of the product(s) on the date agreed with us or our agent between Monday to Friday (We cannot do Saturday deliveries). Please note that the One Person Delivery service is unable to take your delivery inside your home.
2. It is your responsibility for ensuring that there is suitable access to the premises in order to allow the palletised product(s) to be delivered. The Seller cannot be held responsible if restricted access prevents delivery of the product(s) to your preferred location.
3. If you fail to accept delivery of the product(s) on the agreed date‚ we reserve the right to recover the original outgoing and return transportation costs.
4. Where product(s) are not held in stock by the Seller please allow approximately 8 – 24 weeks for delivery. Due to the nature of our business that dictates that we must fill a container before it departs from China‚ delivery times may take longer than 24 weeks.
5. If you choose to use our service – please note that we cannot be held accountable for extended lead times due to the unpredictable nature of Sales.
6. In any event “time” shall not be “of the essence”.
7. The Seller shall not be liable for non delivery or delayed delivery‚ howsoever caused.

4. Returns and Cancellations

1. You must inspect the product(s) immediately on delivery and if the item is damaged sign the delivery note and state the nature of the damage on the delivery note before the courier leaves.
2. You must inform us within 24 hours by fax or e-mail of any damage or defects.
3. You must send photographic evidence of the damage.
4. If we or our nominated carrier have delivered the product(s) to you and the product(s) is damaged or defective we will offer to take it back and replace it for you free of charge or if you prefer we will issue a refund. You must ensure that the product(s) are adequately wrapped in its original packaging for return to us. The refund will be issued once the product(s) have been returned by you and and received by us in the condition they where in when delivered to you.
5. Where you choose the “Free Pickup” option using your own transport or your nominated carrier and the product(s) are subsequently found to be damaged or defective we will offer a full refund. But you must send the goods back to us at your own cost and risk as soon as possible. The refund will be issued once the product(s) have been returned by you and and received by us in the condition they where in when the product(s) where picked up.
6. If the product(s) is not damaged or defective‚ but you are dissatisfied‚ you have 7 days from the delivery date to contact the Seller by letter‚ fax or e-mail to cancel your order. In this case you will be offered a refund of the price of the product(s)‚ minus the restocking charge‚ and you must bear the cost of the inward and outward delivery charge. The product(s) must be received in the same condition they were in at the time of delivery and adequately wrapped in its original packaging.
7. For bespoke, personalised or ordered product(s) from our suppliers‚ any deposit paid by the Buyer at the date of order shall be non-refundable if the buyer subsequently cancels the order.
8. The Seller shall not be liable to the Buyer for any direct or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem the Seller notifies to the Buyer.

5. The Products

1. The samples give an idea of colour but we cannot guarantee that the final colour will exactly match.
2. The Buyer accepts that as each item is made and finished by hand‚ there can be variations in colour‚ texture, tone‚ design and fixtures within each piece.
3. With the “floating panel” method of construction it is perfectly normal for shrinkage or expansion to occur as the furniture settles into your home‚ this process will normally be completed within 3 – 4 months. Once the movement has finished you can call in a good French Polisher to touch up the exposed area and normally‚ no further movement should occur.
4. Please note that DHL Home Furnishings has no control relating to the humidity and room temperature where your furniture is kept so with regards to the “floating panel” shrinkage or expansion occurring‚ it is the responsibility of the customer to source a French Polisher and settle any associated costs.
5. Although the Rosewood used in the manufacture of our product(s) is stringently kiln dried‚ the Buyer accepts that some cracking or splitting may occur over time due to the inherent nature of the traditional wood materials used and does not constitute a defect in the product(s).
6. While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colour reproduction in our photographs on our web site and catalogues‚ they are for illustrative purposes only as we do not have control over the settings on your equipment.
7. All measurements on our web site and catalogs are approximate.

6. The Website

1. The web site is owned and operated by DHL Home Furnishings
2. All content on our site including (but not limited to) photographs, text, images and illustrations is owned by DHL Home Furnishings and is protected by international and English copyright laws.
3. Neither DHL Home Furnishings or its Directors will be held responsible or liable to you or any other parties for any direct, indirect, consequential or punitive damages that may occur as a result of your use of our web site.

7. General

1. This contract shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute shall be determined by the courts of England and Wales.
