Oriental Lacquered Furniture has a history that dates back thousands of years. The skills and techniques used in making these stunning pieces have been handed down from generation to generation.
The Lacquered Furniture is hand made and hand painted by very highly skilled craftsman. After the base coats have been applied, the pieces are treated with several layers of natural lacquer. The craftsmen then paints the fine gold coloured detail and decoration by hand on top of the lacquer in a Bird and Flower design. A final lacquer coat is then applied resulting in a truly exquisite Oriental furniture work of art.

The skills and techniques used in making Chinese Mother of Pearl Lacquered furniture pieces have been handed down from generation to generation and have a history that dates back thousands of years.
The MOP Lacquered furniture is hand made and hand painted by very highly skilled craftsman and after the base coats have been applied, the pieces are treated with several layers of natural lacquer. The craftsmen then paints the fine gold coloured detail and decoration by hand on top of the lacquer with a landscape or village design, followed by carefully applying the mother of pearl and soapstone carvings. A final lacquer coat is then applied resulting in the unique individual nature of each piece of Chinese Mother of Pearl Lacquer furniture ensuring its continued popularity and demand.
